This is a development board equipped with the SIM808 module, allowing you to use GSM communication and GPS features with development boards such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. With this board, you can send and receive SMS, perform location tracking, and even build your own mobile phone. The SIM808 module on the board handles GSM communication and GPS receiver functions.
The board can be powered using a 5–26V DC power supply or a battery (for voltages below 9V, it is recommended to use a power supply capable of providing at least 2A current). Alternatively, you can use the onboard lithium battery connector to power the board with single-cell (1S) Li-Po or Li-Ion (such as 18650) batteries (acceptable voltage range: 3.5–4.2V). The board features SMA connectors for antenna connections. Separate antennas are required for GSM, GPS, and Bluetooth. To start the board, press and hold the “start” button for 2 seconds after connecting the power. Network connection status can be monitored via the onboard LEDs. It features a TTL serial connection (UART) compatible with 1.25V / 3.3V / 5V levels for connecting Arduino and Raspberry Pi boards.
To use the Bluetooth feature, you must supply a Bluetooth antenna with an SMA connector. GPS and GSM antennas are included with the product.
