The BMP280 barometric pressure and altitude sensor I2C/SPI module can measure barometric pressure and temperature with a very good level of accuracy. Since pressure changes with altitude, we can also use it as an altimeter with ±1 meter accuracy. Barometric pressure accuracy is ±1 hPa, and temperature accuracy is ±1.0 °C. It is an ideal pressure sensor that you can use in Arduino® based projects and Raspberry Pi projects. Basically, you can learn everything you need to know about atmospheric conditions from this small sensor. The BMP280 Pressure Sensor is designed for use in indoor/outdoor navigation, weather forecasting, home automation, and even personal health and fitness tracking. This module is a barometric pressure sensor that is the next-generation upgrade of the popular BMP085/BMP180/BMP183 sensors and is perfect for detecting all kinds of weather conditions. This precise sensor can be used with both I2C and SPI.
Pressure Sensor Applications:
- Obtaining more precise temperature, atmospheric pressure values, and approximate altitude data
- Improving GPS navigation
- Indoor navigation (floor detection, elevator detection)
- Outdoor navigation, entertainment, and sports applications
- Weather forecasting
- Health applications
- Used in vertical speed indicators, for example ascent/descent speed.
