Launched in 2012, Zybo Z7, the second-generation update of Zybo, is a ready-to-use embedded software and digital circuit development board built on the Xilinx Zynq-7000 family.
The Zynq family, which successfully integrates a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor with a Xilinx 7-Series FPGA, is based on the Xilinx All Programmable System-on-Chip (AP SoC) architecture.
On the Zybo Z7, Zynq is equipped with rich multimedia and connectivity peripherals to create a powerful single-board computer. The rich video features of Zybo Z7, including MIPI CSI-2 compatible PCam connector, HDMI input and output, and high DDR3L bandwidth, have been carefully selected to be an economical solution for visual applications.
The Zybo Z7’s Pmod connectors allow connection of over 70 Pmod peripheral cards from the Digilent catalog, such as motor controllers, sensors, and displays, making it easier to implement applications that require additional hardware.
