Notify me when its in stockThe DFRobot Heart Rate Sensor is a thumb-sized sensor compatible with Arduino®.
Based on the PPG (Photoplethysmography) technique, this pulse sensor uses a low-cost optical scanning method. Instead of tracking blood flow, this method tracks the expansion and contraction created by each pulse beat in the tissues. Thanks to this theoretically simpler system, the pulse is easily detected and converted into electrical signals.
The sensor module features two holes for attaching the wristband strap, allowing you to easily mount it on your wrist or fingers. The most important thing is that the sensor must be in direct contact with your skin.
Equipped with a Gravity interface, the sensor is extremely easy to integrate into your projects and use. The fastest way to work with the module is to use an expansion board (Gravity IO Expansion Shield for Arduino).
Additionally, since it operates at a 3.3V voltage, it can work seamlessly with the original Arduino® UNO R3, as well as other development boards like the Raspberry Pi and Intel Edison.

The video below demonstrates an IoT-based pulse tracking program. The system was designed using the Blynk application.
