The TCRT5000 5 Channel Infrared Sensor Module is an ideal sensor for line-following robots and optical sensing projects. This module uses reflective optical sensor technology and combines an IR emitter with a phototransistor receiver to detect surrounding objects. It outputs analog signals, allowing easy evaluation of the detection distance and the object based on its reflection.
The TCRT5000 is capable of high-precision detection and can detect surface colors and lines, making it widely used in robotic applications. It operates efficiently with a high output current (typically 1 mA) and low power consumption. This sensor can be used in projects such as line tracking, distance measurement, and object color detection.
TCRT5000 and TCRT5000L are technically identical sensors; their detection range, output type, and performance are the same. The only difference is the lead length: the TCRT5000 model has a 3.5 mm short lead, while the TCRT5000L model has a 15 mm long lead. This difference allows the sensors to be suitable for different mounting requirements. Their electrical and optical properties are identical.
