The MAX232 is an interface IC designed to convert RS-232 communication signals to TTL/CMOS logic levels. It includes two drivers and two receivers for bidirectional communication. Operating with external capacitors, the IC converts ±10V RS-232 signals to 0V–5V logic levels, allowing direct communication with microcontrollers. Thanks to its low power consumption and compact SO16 package, it is widely used in embedded systems, Arduino projects, and industrial communication applications.
