WS2812B 5 Meter Addressable RGB LED Strip – 30 LED/m – IP20
This WS2812B-based addressable RGB LED strip lets you control the color and brightness of each LED individually. It runs on 5 V DC and uses a single-wire (DIN) data interface. The 5 m reel offers 30 LEDs per meter (total 150 LEDs) and an IP20 rating, making it ideal for indoor lighting, decoration, ambience, and hobby projects.
Specifications
- LED Type: WS2812B (5050 package, built-in driver)
- Operating Voltage: 5 V DC
- Density: 30 LED/m (5 m = 150 LEDs)
- Power/Current (max): ~0.3 W/LED (full white); approx. 9 W/m (~1.8 A/m) → ~45 W (~9 A) for 5 m (at full brightness)
- Data Input: Single wire, nominal 800 kHz
- Cut Interval: Cuttable at each LED with marked pads
- Strip Width: ~10 mm (typ.)
- Protection Rating: IP20 (indoor use)
- Adhesive Backing: Yes, for easy mounting (tape type may vary)
- Software Support: Arduino (Adafruit NeoPixel / FastLED), ESP8266/ESP32, Raspberry Pi
Usage Notes
- For long runs (> 2 m), use power injection at the beginning/middle/end (feed 5 V and GND) to keep brightness uniform.
- Choose a 5 V power supply with headroom (e.g., for 5 m, ≥ 10 A is recommended).
- With 3.3 V logic controllers (ESP/Raspberry Pi), a level shifter is recommended for the data line.
- Route the data line with GND, keep the cable short; optionally add a ~330–470 Ω series resistor before the first LED and a 1000 µF capacitor across the strip’s 5 V/GND input.
