SparkFun made this board holds 32-bit ARM Cortex - M0+ core Atmel ATSAMD21G18 microcontroller. This microcontroller has 256 kB flash memory, 32 kB SRAM and 48 Mhz clock frequency. Consequently, it is much faster then classical 8-bit Arduino boards and has more memory space. The board can be programmed with Arduino IDE using Arduino Zero libraries.
The USB B type connector on the board works as a supplier and a programmer. Additionally, there are RTC (real time clock), 600 mA 3.3 V regulator and a Li - Po battery charging circuit on this board. You may supply your board by connecting a 1-cell Li - Po battery or just charge your battery. Design of the board is exactly the same as the other Arduino boards. So you can use your shields directly with this board.
SAMD21 microcontroller has 6 SERCOM communication port. All of these ports can be used in communication of UART, I2C master, I2C slave, SPI master or SPI slave mode.
Board comes without headers, you may buy headers seperately.
