NeoPixel is a RGB LED that you can connect them togheter for multiple using, can be controlled by using only one microcontroller pin.
These LEDs have 24-bit color resolution. It consumes low values of power, because it's PWM driving process is made by the controller inside LEDs. It draws 60mA of maximum current per pixel. They are driven by a constant value of current so even if your battery goes low, your NeoPixel's brightness level never reduces. You can drive NeoPixels up to 500 of them, in 30FPS rate by using Arduino. Arduino's process capability and memory sizes will not allow you to drive NeoPixel more than 500. Using ribbon cable you can string these up to 15cm apart (after that, you might get power drops and data corruption).
